Howden implemented Cognitive search technology to address this challenge to optimize their bidding process. This technology enabled them to scour through large volumes of data efficiently and extract relevant information from their engineering documents. Situation
Claims management transactions in the National Health Service (NHS) can be time-consuming and inefficient, involving a lot of manual data entry and processing of paper documents. This can lead to delays in processing claims, impacting patient safety and resulting in higher costs for taxpayers.
Solution
To address this challenge, we proposed a solution to modernize claims management transactions by digitizing documents and using AI and machine learning to extract data from those forms. This data can then be used to drive better decision-making for the NHS, improving the efficiency and accuracy of the claims management process.

By implementing this solution, the NHS delivered better taxpayer value by reducing the costs associated with claims management and improving the accuracy of claims processing. Situation
The issue that Vodafone was facing was that its software engineering work across the company was supported by disparate systems, with different source repositories, change control systems that relied on Word documents and a stasis-inducing attitude to risk and compliance.
Solution
The use of Azure DevOps and GitHub, which allowed Vodafone to streamline and automate their coding, testing, and development processes. This has resulted in a 40% time saving in the global web engineering team and more than 50% time saving in the global app engineering team. In addition, the use of these tools has resulted in a four times increase in developer productivity, without a commensurate increase in headcount.

With trillions of transactions and data sources, democratizing data and making it available to end-users was a massive challenge. They needed a solution that would allow associates to drill down into the most relevant details using their preferred method and enable them to manage their part of the Walmart business more effectively.

Walmart’s finance department was able to standardize on Microsoft Power BI as a reporting and analytics solution. The Power BI “Semantic Model” gave analysts easy access to all of Walmart’s financial data, enables them to analyze it quickly, and allows them to drill down to the most granular level of data available. Walmart’s Finance Data & Analytics team worked to unify disparate data sources, including internal and external technologies, through a series of layered steps using Power BI’s incremental refresh option.
Impact
Walmart was able to centralize and democratize the vast amount of data it processes, making it available to end-users, enabling them to powerfully analyze the data quickly. With Microsoft Power BI, they have established a “semantic model library” covering massive amounts of financial data, allowing analysts an easy way to gain actionable insights into daily journal entry transactions within the U.S. The solution revolutionized self-service access to financial data, significantly reduced the amount of time analysts spent on gathering data and provided the ability to drill-down to the most granular level of data available.
